Cherryland Electric Cooperative does not import any electricity from Canada. In 2024, our regional grid operator, MISO, got less than 1% of its electricity from Canada and regularly manages fluctuations in energy availability greater than that daily.

We are keeping a close eye on the tariffs for any impact on the raw materials and goods we use for our system maintenance and grid improvements.

Right now, we don’t have any immediate concerns, but it is definitely something we are watching. If that changes, you can count on us to share those concerns and information on anything that may impact our members or your service.
