Winter Protection Plan – Beginning Later This Year
Starting May 2025, Cherryland will begin disconnecting for nonpayment year-round. We know some members may still need a little extra help when the temperatures drop, so we’re offering a new Winter Protection Plan. It’s a safety net for those with limited income and our senior citizens from November through March. While, it won’t make your electric bill disappear, it will keep your lights on through the winter. Here are the two ways to qualify:
Low-Income:
If you still need extra support after using up help from state and federal utility assistance programs, the Winter Protection Plan is an option to help you keep your lights on and homes warm through the colder months.
Senior Citizens:
Members over the age of 65 won’t have to worry about being disconnected during the winter months. But it’s a good idea to chip away at that bill when you can, so it doesn’t pile up.
