The Board of Directors plays an integral role in representing the best interests of the membership and developing strategic vision for the cooperative.

We encourage all interested candidates to take time to learn more about our co-op and the electric cooperative model as you consider serving on the Board of Directors. Feel free to contact our current board members for insight on the responsibilities of a Cherryland director.

What’s the position?

The board vacancy is for an At-Large seat. That means the director can reside in any of the six counties in Cherryland’s service territory. The candidate appointed will serve the remainder of the current term ending on June 15, 2017. The appointed director will have an opportunity to run for additional terms as outlined in the co-op’s bylaws.

Eligibility requirements:

  • Applicant must be a Cherryland member.
  • Applicant’s primary residence must be served by the cooperative.
  • Applicant can neither be a Cherryland employee nor have an immediate family member employed by the cooperative or an affiliated organization.
