This month in Country Lines, we announced the winners of our state wide Tricked Out Deer Blind contest. Unfortunately, none of Cherryland’s members won, but they still had some pretty sweet entries. Check them out below.

About Jeremy’s Deer Blind: “This portable deer blind can be hooked up to an ATV, tractor, or any vehicle with a hitch… to be placed any place on one’s hunting grounds with ease. It will be a delight for a vegetable or fruit stand with its detachable shelf. Can be used for a bus shelter after Dad is done hunting. Truly a blind that the whole family will use and love!!!!”

A Deer Blind with a Twist of Lemon
Submitted by: Kathy Couturier

About Kathy’s Deer Blind: “Last summer my husband and kids built a deer blind. First they took an old apple crate and put a top on it. Then they made a hinged door on the side. It was completed with hinged plexiglass windows. My oldest daughter said, “Dad, that looks like a lemonade stand!” So they went with the idea by writing lemonade above the window and 75 cents below. For the next step my husband took a loader and made a hill twenty feet high which overlooks a food plot. Dad and a friend carried it up the hill to set it in place. Our seven year old daughter and six year old son deer hunted in the lemonade stand. Even their aunt had to try it out on opening day! So if you are ever out in the wilderness and come across a lemonade stand, hopefully it’s open so you can quench your thirst!”

A Deer Blind for the Generations
Submitted by: John Willis

About John’s Deer Blind: “The history of this deer blind extends back almost three decades. Originally, this deer blind stand was my daughter’s first tree house that she helped design & build & paint when she was 6 yrs old. Last year I dismantled the treehouse, and hauled the legs, decking, roof and most the internal framing to our cabin in the UP. It now stands proudly once again as my deer blind, just like it did almost 30 years ago. My daughter now lives in Colorado with her husband & newly born son. Hopefully, he will be able to one day hunt with grandpa in his mom’s old “treehouse”. I look forward to sharing this story with him.

(Also, I have a picture of my daughter in the tree house when she was 6 yrs old.)”

While these Cherryland submissions may not have won the contest, we still think they’re pretty cool. Have a cool deer blind story? Let us know in the comments below.

Happy Opening Day Tomorrow!
