America’s Electric Cooperatives PAC
Advocating for You
In 1935, nine out of ten rural homes didn’t have electricity. And, nine out of ten urban homes did. This disparity led farmers across the nation to enlist the help of their legislators to create the national electric cooperative program.
Established in 1966, America’s Electric Cooperatives PAC (formerly known as ACRE®) proudly serves as the federal political action committee for the nation’s electric cooperatives. As part of the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association (NRECA), the PAC is dedicated to supporting political candidates who will advocate for and safeguard the interests of electric cooperatives and their valued consumer-owners. Our primary goal is to ensure rural Americans have access to safe, reliable, and affordable power.
With the unwavering backing of over 35,000 individuals, each contributing an average of $65, our PAC truly represents a grassroots movement. Together, we unite co-op members and passionate advocates across the country, including hundreds residing in the Grand Traverse region. By joining forces, we can actively make a difference, ensuring that your voice is heard and your needs are met in the realm of electricity policy and beyond.
