Interesting topic, especially in regard to time of use metering with delayed charging capabilities of EV’s It is an advantage for both the utility and consumer as well as the battery packs of EV’s since heat is the enemy for battery packs, quick or fast charging is harder on them. It is always better to give them a cooling down period after use before charging. Some EV manufactures of hybrid’s encase or surround their battery packs in a coolant circulating system for better efficiency and longevity. The ability to export power from an EV to go off grid during times of peak demand is a concept that at least three other EV manufactures are making available too.
